After years of resistance from Traditional Owners, doctors and health professionals, and community and environmental groups, the fossil fuel corporations that want to expand the Middle Arm gas hub have hit a major roadblock. After missing the deadline to submit key documents last week, the NT government has pushed the deadline for environmental approvals out by two more years.

This destructive gas project was supposed to be complete by now, but the billionaires behind it didn't count on people rising up for Country, climate and communities.

We have a chance to stop this once and for all — but it's going to take all of us. The Federal government is still promising $1.9 billion of our taxpayer money to this destruction.

That money could fund a Larrakia-owned eco-sanctuary at Lee Point to protect biodiversity and birds and create jobs and income for Larrakia people. It could provide vital funds for health, housing and nature, and create low-carbon jobs in care work, the arts and transitioning the NT to affordable, renewable energy.

Email Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers, Finance Minister Katy Gallagher and Infrastructure Minister Catherine King today and ask them to redirect the $1.9 billion.
