While Labor has promised to protect water in the NT and WA from fracking, it's likely to be too late by the time they introduce new laws next year. 

That's why Sophie Scamps and the Greens have urgently introduced bills in the House and Senate to uphold Labor's commitment. These bills will close the loopholes in our environment laws, and help ensure that water is protected – not poisoned – no matter where it is in the country.

  • By the time Labor expands the water trigger to shale gas fracking next year, fracking is likely to be underway in the NT
  • If the expanded water trigger is introduced after fracking starts, it will be too late to protect groundwater from toxic 'forever' chemicals
  • Ask your MP to support introducing the expanded water trigger this year
