Fix Our Climate Laws

Fix Our Climate Laws

Tamboran Resources are banking on the Middle Arm Industrial Precinct exporting their fracked gas, but through our submissions, we have the opportunity to ensure that it will never facilitate fracking.

Tips on what to include:

  1. Introduce who you are, where you live, and why you're against new coal and gas
  2. Explain why you oppose fracking in the Northern Territory. For example, lack of consent from Traditional Owners, risk of toxic 'forever' chemicals contaminating groundwater, and 1.4 billion tonnes of climate pollution
  3. Recommend that the Middle Arm Industrial Precinct does not facilitate fracking. You can also ask that the government seeks consent from Traditional Owners, establishes a public inquiry, and guarantees that federal funding will not fund gas-related industries

Submissions will go to the Senate Standing Committees on Environment and Communications, who are conducting the inquiry into the Middle Arm Industrial Precinct. They will use these submissions to shape their recommendations for the site, including whether it should help facilitate fracking or not.
