Next week politicians will be voting about whether to let the government give a massive $50 million of our public money to fracking companies in the Northern Territory. 

Currently the Labor party is on the fence about whether to stand with Traditional Owners and block the funds, or cave in to the Morrison government and the gas lobby. It’s critical that they hear from their voters before next week - make the call to your Labor Senator today

When you get on the phone, don’t forget to introduce yourself and say where you live. 

Tell them you’re calling to see if they’ll support the disallowance motion for the Beetaloo Grants Program. 

Explain why you don’t want fracking in the Beetaloo, for example --

  • No more money for Morrison’s mates in the gas industry. Empire Energy is set to receive almost half the funds and their chair is a major liberal party donor.

  • Traditional owners ...

  • Traditional owners have raised serious concerns. Traditional Owners in the Northern Territory have given evidence to a senate inquiry saying they’d prefer the funds to be spent on housing and infrastructure that benefits their communities. 

  • It’s disastrous for our climate. The latest IPCC report makes it clear that we need to be doing everything we can to cut emissions now, not opening up new gas fields.
